Course summary

This course involves the study of language and literature and offers a rich source of historical and cultural understanding. Students can study a wide range of literary periods and genres and combine them with studies in cinema and creative writing. There are many options, including: British literature; children’s literature; Australian and American literature; creative writing; short stories; cinema; postcolonialism; literary theory.

Entry requirement for international students

Students must have completed Australian Year 11 and Year 12 or other country specific requirements equivalent to Australia. They must also satisfy the following English language requirements: IELTS score of 6.0 (no component lower than 5.5) or TOEFL (paper based) score of 550 (plus minimum Test of Written English score of 4.0) or TOEFL (internet based) score of 79 (minimum writing score of 19) or Pearson (PTE Academic) score of 57.
