Course summary
This degree will prepare students for a wide range of jobs in the media industry and beyond, with the flexibility of the Bachelor of Arts degree. The Media major is itself flexible. Students can choose from a range of digital media production choices, complemented by contemporary approaches to media theory. This course is suitable for students who want the flexibility to study a range of areas within one degree. The flexibility of the Bachelor of Arts program is ideal if they have interests across a number of diverse career opportunities. Media graduates have found employment with leading institutions in the fields of media production, journalism, corporate communications, advertising and public relations, public policy, film and television production, and a wide range of media and communications positions requiring convergent media skills, as well as a range of administrative roles in business, government, teaching, research and the arts. Media also prepares people for careers as cutting-edge independent and/or freelance creative producers as film makers, professional writers and authors, broadcasters, researchers and as designers/creators of new media products.
Entry requirement for international students
Students should have an IELTS (Academic English only) score of minimum 6.5 overall, with 6.0 in each section; a TOEFL (paper based test) minimum score of 580 overall, with 53 listening, 52 reading, 59 Structure/ Written Expression, 5.0 TWE; TOEFL (computer based test score of minimum 237 overall, with 19 Listening, 19 Reading, 25 Structure/Writing and TOEFL (internet based test) score of minimum 92 overall, with 18 Listening, 17 Reading, 22 Writing, 22 Speaking.
