Course summary
This four-year degree includes a major in psychology accredited by the Australian Psychological Society and also meets the requirements for the Diploma in Education. The psychology component of the degree is identical to the BA-Psychology. The program includes the required education and professional units for teachers wishing to teach at primary school level. If students wish to include secondary teaching they must consult with an academic advisor in the School of Education. Career opportunities include employment in private and public schools as primary and secondary teachers.
Entry requirement for international students
There is no specific additional entry requirements are necessary other than the course entry rank, however, Mathematics is recommended. The required Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) for this course is 84.95. Students should also fulfil the following English language requirements: IELTS score of 7.0 overall with 6.0 Listening, 7.0 Reading, 7.0 Writing, 6.0 Speaking; TOEFL (Paper based test): score of 600 overall with 53 Listening, 56 Reading, 63 Structure/ Written Expression, 6.0 TWE; TOEFL (Computer based test): 250 overall with 19 Listening, 22 Reading, 27 Structure/Writing and TOEFL (Internet based test): Score of 100 overall with 18 Listening, 22 Reading, 26 Writing and 22 Speaking. Students who do not meet the English entry requirements above are advised to include an English Language course prior to commencing full time study.
