Course summary
This degree covers a broad range of topics including personality, perception, neuroscience, learning, biopsychology, social and personality psychology, organisational psychology, developmental psychology, neuropsychology and cognitive processes. This degree is accredited by the Australian Psychological Society (APS). This degree is also available in the following combined and double degrees: Bachelor of Arts - Psychology with Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Arts - Psychology with Diploma of Education, Bachelor of Arts - Psychology with Bachelor of Health and Bachelor of Business Administration with Bachelor of Arts - Psychology. The degree is accredited by the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and allows students to proceed to an APS approved fourth year course. Note that after the fourth year, a further two years postgraduate training or supervised experience is required for registration as a psychologist. Students applying for the fourth year must meet the entry requirements. Professional employment in Psychology includes work in areas broadly classified as clinical, counselling, educational, organisational, and academic psychology. Professional Psychologists are employed in the public sector in hospitals and other health service organisations, in government departments and agencies, or in educational institutions. Increasingly, Psychologists are working as business and private practitioners.
Entry requirement for international students
Students should have an IELTS (Academic English only) score of minimum 6.5 overall, with 6.0 in each section; a TOEFL (paper based test) minimum score of 580 overall, with 53 listening, 52 reading, 59 Structure/ Written Expression, 5.0 TWE; TOEFL (computer based test score of minimum 237 overall, with 19 Listening, 19 Reading, 25 Structure/Writing and TOEFL (internet based test) score of minimum 92 overall, with 18 Listening, 17 Reading, 22 Writing, 22 Speaking.
