Course summary
This course complements studies in civil engineering with a science major, resulting in multi-skilled graduates who can apply their extensive knowledge to civil engineering projects such as water management, soil management, energy management and environmental management. Major areas of study includes: civil engineering, environmental engineering, engineering, science, biotechnology, chemistry, mathematics, environmental science and biological sciences. On completion, graduates with civil engineering and science studies (either a biotechnology or chemistry major) are well placed to seek work in the growing water and waste water industries.
Entry requirement for international students
Students must have completed Mathematics determined to be equivalent to VCE Units 3 and 4 Mathematical Methods (either) or Specialist Mathematics or Physics. They must have completed Australian year 12 or equivalent to other countries. They must also satisfy one of the following English language requirements: IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0 with no individual band score less than 6.0 or TOEFL Paper-based Test: a minimum score of 550 with a score of 5 or better in the Test of Written English or TOEFL Computer-based Test: a minimum score of 213 with a score of 5 in essay writing or TOEFL Internet-based Test: a minimum score of 80 with no individual score less than 20 or satisfactory completion of an English language subject at Year 12 or equivalent level which have been completed in the last two years and at an academic level acceptable to the University or approved equivalent.
