Course summary
This dual program will provide students with a solid understanding of civil engineering principles. It will equip them with multidisciplinary and entrepreneurial skills, allowing them to play leading roles in engineering corporations, or to develop their own civil engineering business ventures. The commerce majors are accounting, accounting and finance, commercial law, entrepreneurship and innovation, finance, human resource management, international business, Italian, Japanese, management, marketing. The unique combination of engineering and commerce skills gained through this course will provide them with an excellent opportunity for entry into a wide range of industries, including public authorities, municipalities, consulting firms and private consultancy firms. They will be able to work as a planner, designer, construction manager, administrator, investigation and research engineer or consultant.
Entry requirement for international students
Students should have either one of the following: Swinburne college English for Academic Purposes advanced level certificate at the pathways level (EAP 5: pathways - 60 per cent); obtaining a minimum IELTS overall band of 5.5 (academic module) with no individual band below 5.0; a TOEFL (paper-based) minimum score of 527 (with a test of written English (TWE) score of 4.5); a TOEFL (computer-based) minimum score of 196 (with written writing score of 4.5); a TOEFL (internet-based) minimum score of 71 with no band less than 18.
