Course summary
This program provides students with the technical expertise and management skills needed to plan, design, construct and maintain facilities such as buildings, bridges, dams, water supply systems, waste treatment systems, road and rail networks, and air and sea ports. They will gain comprehensive engineering theory as well as hands-on practical work and real-life projects to get their job-ready. There is high demand for civil engineers in Australia and overseas. They will be able to work within industries such as building, mining, transport, water, government and consultancy.
Entry requirement for international students
Students should have either one of the following: Swinburne college English for Academic Purposes advanced level certificate at the pathways level (EAP 5: pathways - 60 per cent); obtaining a minimum IELTS overall band of 5.5 (academic module) with no individual band below 5.0; a TOEFL (paper-based) minimum score of 527 (with a test of written English (TWE) score of 4.5); a TOEFL (computer-based) minimum score of 196 (with written writing score of 4.5); a TOEFL (internet-based) minimum score of 71 with no band less than 18.
