Course summary
This dual program allows students to complement their mechanical engineering studies in design, manufacturing and maintenance with fundamental knowledge in the field of commerce. With a combination of engineering and commerce skills will be ideally set up for a career with an advantage. The commerce majors are accounting, accounting and finance, commercial law, entrepreneurship and innovation, finance, human resource management, international business, Italian, Japanese, management, marketing. They can find employment in engineering or commerce in the areas of automotive, aerospace, transport, power or manufacturing engineering, materials processing, appliance production, mechanical building services, mining and raw-material conversion.
Entry requirement for international students
Students should have either one of the following: Swinburne college English for Academic Purposes advanced level certificate at the pathways level (EAP 5: pathways - 60 per cent); obtaining a minimum IELTS overall band of 5.5 (academic module) with no individual band below 5.0; a TOEFL (paper-based) minimum score of 527 (with a test of written English (TWE) score of 4.5); a TOEFL (computer-based) minimum score of 196 (with written writing score of 4.5); a TOEFL (internet-based) minimum score of 71 with no band less than 18.
