Course summary
This honours program is designed to provide students with the resources to further develop and apply their research skills and to pursue special areas of interest in depth. The honours program aims to develop, at an advanced undergraduate level, knowledge of human movement through research; facilitate the completion of a substantive research thesis which focuses on theory, applied/professional issues or some combination of these; provide a direct pathway to graduate-level study; and make contributions to knowledge in the field of human movement. Career options include exercise therapy and teaching of personal development, facility management, fitness and corporate health, health, physical education and outdoor education, health promotion, sports coaching, sports development, sports management, sports science and team conditioning.
Entry requirement for international students
Applicants must have completed a recognised Australian bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline at an appropriate level. Applicants should have successfully completed the Bachelor of Human Movement (C10041), with a credit average or better in the final two full-time semesters. Graduates from other institutions who have completed a comparable course and who meet the academic criteria are also considered for admission. In exceptional cases, consideration is given to applicants who have completed the Bachelor of Management in Leisure and Events (C10039), the Bachelor of Arts in Sport and Exercise Management (C10046), the Bachelor of Management in Tourism (C10040) or the Bachelor of Human Movement (C10041) at pass level. In such cases, outstanding professional achievements are taken into account. Students must fulfil the following English language proficiency of academic IELTS test score of 6.5 overall (with a writing score of 6.0) or TOEFL Test Paper Based score of 575 overall with TWE of 4.5 or TOEFL Test Internet Based score of 90 overall with essay writing of 21 or DEEP Program (Completion of the Insearch Direct Entry English Program at C level) or PTE score of 64.
