Course summary
This course meets the demand for professionals able to provide physical activity services to all sectors of the community. The course provides students with a strong understanding of the processes and mechanisms underlying human movement, and with the knowledge and skills necessary to manage and plan human movement activities in leisure and education contexts. Students who complete this course are eligible for direct entry into the one year Bachelor of Teaching in Secondary Education (PDHPE major) (C08002) offered by UTS: Education (four years in total). The PDHPE pathway provides students with the opportunity to complete two degrees in four years. The Bachelor of Human Movement aims to provide graduates with the necessary skills to gain initial employment in the human movement field, as well as the analytical skills necessary for critical appraisal of developments in the field. Career options include sports science, fitness and corporate health, facility management, personal training, sport coaching, teaching personal development, health, physical education (PDHPE) and outdoor education.
Entry requirement for international students
Applicants must have completed an Australian Year 12 qualification, Australian Qualifications Framework Diploma, or equivalent Australian or overseas qualification at the required level. This course is also available to mature-aged applicants where preference is given to those with vocational experience in the broad field of human movement. Students must fulfil the following English language proficiency of academic IELTS test score of 6.5 overall (with a writing score of 6.0) or TOEFL Test Paper Based score of 575 overall with TWE of 4.5 or TOEFL Test Internet Based score of 90 overall with essay writing of 21 or DEEP Program (Completion of the Insearch Direct Entry English Program at C level) or PTE score of 64.
