Course summary
This program provides hospital trained nurses with the opportunity to upgrade to degree level. Students evaluate and apply concepts drawn from nursing theory and research to professional practice; demonstrate an increased awareness of the effects of cultural, social, economic, legal and ethical influences on the development of the nursing profession; and demonstrate competencies that enable health professionals to accept responsibility for a more complex level of client management. International applicants are able to upgrade their overseas nursing qualifications to a bachelors degree, however, the conversion program will not lead to registration as a nurse in New South Wales.
Entry requirement for international students
Students must be registered nurses, eligible for registration in New South Wales, and have obtained their initial qualification after 1972. Candidates with qualifications prior to 1972 who do not hold equivalent nursing qualifications are still eligible to apply following successful completion of the special tertiary admission test or other entry pathways such as the University access program. In addition they should have fulfilled English language requirements with IELTS (academic) overall score of 6.5, TOEFL (Internet-based) score of 88 and have credit in English for tertiary studies.
