Course summary
This program provides a combination of coursework and clinical experiences to prepare students for a career in the health sector. Clinical experience is gained at government and private hospitals and health agencies. The degree is accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and provides the necessary qualification for graduates to be eligible to become a registered nurse within the Australian health sector. Clinical experience gained at hospitals and health agencies provides students with hands-on practical experience in a variety of areas including: community health, surgical, aged care, mental health, medical, indigenous health and child health. Graduates are suited to careers in a range of clinical areas in the public and private health sectors including surgical theaters, pediatrics, community health and education, renal dialysis, as practice nurse in GP clinics, and in mental health.
Entry requirement for international students
Students should have completed an educational qualification deemed to be at least equivalent to completion of year 12 in Australia and achieved the equivalent of the minimum entry grade for the course for which they have applied. They should have fulfilled the Universitys English language requirement: IELTS (academic) score of 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in any band or TOEFL score of 550 with no less than 4.5 in the test of written English or TOEFL Internet-based with a minimum score or 79 and a minimum of 22 in writing and no less than 18 in other bands or equivalent.
