Course summary

This program is designed to extend the research skills of students who have demonstrated merit in their undergraduate course. It is designed to allow students to progress to higher degrees by research and prepare them for employment. Students from anywhere in the University (and from outside the University) who meet the entry requirements can apply for the Bachelor of Philosophy Honours program and students within the Faculty of Business and Government can apply into the Bachelor of Philosophy Honours program in the areas of their undergraduate specialisation - applied economics, building and construction management, business administration, commerce, management, politics and international relations, tourism management and urban and regional planning. The Bachelor of Philosophy Honours program includes an honours research colloquium, an honours research thesis written with the guidance of an academic supervisor and coursework in research methods.

Entry requirement for international students

Students should have completed undergraduate degree in an area relevant to their proposed program of study within the previous five years or the equivalent standing in a relevant degree or relevant professional experience; credit plus average over the last two years of the bachelor's degree; and evidence of having performed in some subjects relevant to the proposed study at distinction level or above; academic judgement that the student can be expected to achieve an honours level in the course. In addition they should have fulfilled English language requirements with minimum IELTS score of 6.5 (academic) or equivalent.
