Course summary
This program is designed for people aiming for careers where the focus is on working with individuals, families and communities. This may be within local and state government agencies, private industry or non-government organisations. Students of social welfare and community studies may attain membership, after graduation, with the Australian Institute of Welfare and Community Workers (AIWCW). The wide choice of specialty areas offered by this course provides graduates with a range of career options including welfare officers, counselors, community development workers, policy makers and writers within government departments and agencies, and also the private sector.
Entry requirement for international students
Students should have completed an educational qualification deemed to be at least equivalent to completion of year 12 in Australia and achieved the equivalent of the minimum entry grade for the course for which they have applied. They should have fulfilled the Universitys English language requirement: IELTS (academic) score of 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in any band or TOEFL score of 550 with no less than 4.5 in the test of written English or TOEFL Internet-based with a minimum score or 79 and a minimum of 22 in writing and no less than 18 in other bands or equivalent.
