Course summary
This course introduces contemporary heritage issues and provides an in-depth understanding of tourism as a social phenomenon. It enables critical examination of the relationship between heritage and tourism in a number of settings within Australia (including Indigenous Australia) and internationally. Students will possess critical understandings and skills which have applications in a wide variety of social and vocational contexts, including: local government, community work, teaching (with further study), heritage organizations, international development agencies, public service and cultural tourism.
Entry requirement for international students
Students must satisfy country specific requirements equivalent to Australia. They must also satisfy any one of the following English language requirements: an IELTS score of 6.5 with a minimum score of 6.0 in each subtest, TOEFL score of 575 with minimum score of 4.5 in TWE, TOEFL (CBT): 232 with minimum score of 4.5 in essay rating, TOEFL (IBT): 89 with writing score of 21 and all subtests score of 18 or they should have Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE): Grade B or Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English: Grade C.
