Course summary
This course is a general English course designed for students, who wish to improve their English language proficiency for study, work or travel. The flexible nature of the Certificate enables students to focus on general English skills development or to focus on particular areas such as listening, speaking, reading or writing, depending on the needs of the individual student. In order to receive the Certificate a student must complete all seven modules. In the event that the student does not complete all seven modules a Statement of Attainment is issued for any modules completed. On completion of the course students may enrol into the Certificate in Spoken and Written English III.
Entry requirement for international students
Student must be aged 18 and above to apply for this course. Year 10 (VIC) or equivalent Australian or international qualification as recognized by the College educational authorities such as the Commonwealth Department of Education, Science and Training, or an English level of IELTS 5.5 (no band below 5.0) or TOEFL 540, or the College’s English Language proficiency test, or an English proficiency of intermediate level or above from college or a NEAS accredited ELICOS course, or a degree from a recognized international university majoring in English Language of literature or wholly conducted in English medium.
