Course summary
In this course, students will work with the soft tissues of the body including muscles, tendons and ligaments, the massage therapist helps the body improve the functioning of joints and muscles, as well as promoting circulation and general body tone and relieving mental and physical fatigue. Remedial Massage is an appropriate career for self-starters. They enter clinical practice either alone or as a partner in a healthcare clinic, they can work as a massage therapist with sporting teams and also they can work in health retreats, day spas and private or community health services.
Entry requirement for international students
Students should have completed year 12 or equivalent. International students whose first language is not English must demonstrate one of these following requirements: test of English as a foreign language (TOEFL) with a minimum score for degree courses of 550 (paper based test) or 213 (computer based test) or 79 (internet based test) and for diploma and certificate iv courses of 525 (paper based test) or 196 (computer based test) or 65 (internet based test); international English language test (IELTS) with a 6.0 minimum composite score for degree courses and a minimum composite score of 5.5 for diploma and certificate IV courses. It is valid for two years and only the academic test is accepted; GCE ordinary level English, English literature or English language - grade c or better; GCE ordinary level general English - grade c or 6 or better; GCE advanced level English, English literature or English language - grade e or better; GCSE English, English literature or English language - grade c or better; GCE AO level additional English offered by the joint matriculation board (JMB) - grade c or better; certificate of secondary education English language - grade 1; Cambridge certificate of proficiency in English grade c or better; completion of the Cambridge certificate in advanced English (CAE), moderated by Cambridge English speakers of other languages (ESOL) - minimum grade of C.
