Course summary
This program is designed to build a strong comprehensive foundation in the fundamental skills of massage. This is the entry level qualification for students wanting a career in the massage industry. Upon completion, graduates may register with the Australian Association of Massage Therapists (AAMT) or Association of Massage Therapists (AMT). Specialization units will allow students to adapt and perform treatments to clients of a broader range of populations. This course includes the following specialization units in addition to Swedish (relaxation) massage: body scrubs and wraps clothed massage, lymphatic drainage, reflexology, hot stone massage, aromatherapy, pregnancy massage, seated massage, and deep tissue massage. Upon successful completion of this qualification students will be eligible for a HLT40307 Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice.
Entry requirement for international students
Students must be 18 years and over. They should have fulfilled English language requirements with IELTS score of 5.5 with a minimum score of 5.0 in each component, whilst students sitting the ACIT English test will need to be assessed with levels of 60 per cent for comprehension, written, reading and speaking tests.
