Course summary
This course is normally undertaken as two-years full-time, although part-time study is available in some workshops. A candidate qualifies for the diploma by completing courses in one discipline offered in Ceramics, Furniture, Glass, Gold and Silversmithing, Painting, Photo media, Sculpture and Textiles to the total value of 96 units. Career choices are almost endless as, almost by definition, artists of all kinds create their own opportunities. Visual Arts graduates may work as independent artists or in co-operatives, in galleries and museums, as technicians or assistants in film, theatre or television or in product design and publishing. They can also work as primary, secondary or tertiary teachers following further professional training.
Entry requirement for international students
Students must have completed NSW HSC equivalent and also must submit a portfolio. International students whose native is not English should have the following English qualifications: Academic IELTS - an overall score of 6.5 with at least 6 in each component of the test; TOEFL (paper based test) - a score of 570 with TWE score of 4.5; TOEFL (computer based test) - a score of 230 with Essay score of 4.5 or TOEFL (internet based test) - a score of 90, with a minimum of 20 in all four sections.
