This introductory planning course address social, environmental and governance issues. Students should have an understanding of the planning and development industries; in particular knowledge and skills in relevant legislation, planning and development. They will be sought after to provide technical support to the planning and development industries. Graduates can find career as a local government planner.
Entry requirement for international students
Students should satisfy IELTS overall band score of 6.0 (no individual band less than 6), TOEFL minimum score of 550 including TWE score of 5 (or a Computer based TOEFL score of 213 with an essay rating of 5 or better), TOEFL iBT score of 80 with no score below 20, GCE O Levels grade C or better, WAUFP 50 percent plus pass in ELACS, TEE pass in English or English Literature, International Baccalaureate Diploma minimum Grade 3 at higher level for an English subject and other acceptable qualifications can be obtained from ECU International.

This Joondalup campus is the University's headquarters. It's situated close to rail transport and Perth's major freeway. The campus boasts state-of-the-art facilities including the Health and Wellness Building, a multi-million dollar sport and fitness centre, a new award winning library and student hub, an outdoor cinema during the summer months and on-campus accommodation. The campus also forms part of the Joondalup Learning Precinct, which includes West Coast TAFE and the Western Australian Police Academy. Their vision is to further develop valued citizens for the benefit of Western Australia and beyond, through teaching and research inspired by engagement and partnerships. It is located 25km from the Perth CBD, the Joondalup campus is situated in the Joondalup Learning Precinct. It is close to both the Mitchell Freeway and the Joondalup train line and is easily accessible by car, train, bus and bike, with car and bicycle parking located on campus.

University provides accommodation at the Joondalup, Mount Lawley and Bunbury campuses. The student villages provide a modern friendly environment in self-catering units for a total of 366 students. All villages are located on-campus and close to all campus facilities. Local shops and sport and recreation facilities are within walking distance or easily accessible by public transport.
