Course summary
The program is designed to integrate contemporary research with professional interests; to develop and enhance skills in the critical analysis of educational issues and practice; to expand understanding of the nature of educational work and its social and cultural significance and to enhance professional profile and preparation for specialised practice in teaching and managerial careers in education. It provides an avenue to pursue advanced studies in a format appropriate for the profession. It is a preparation for those in leadership and management positions in educational institutions and systems and other organisations that operate educational programs. It is also preparation for those working in research, policy-making, new information technologies and areas yet to emerge where advanced intellectual and applied knowledge and skills are required.
Entry requirement for international students
Students should have completed a recognised bachelor degree with a suitable class of research honours (not less than an upper second) or its equivalent as determined by the Dean, Griffith Graduate Research School and professional engagement pertinent to the degree over a period totalling not less than three years. International students whose native is not English should have an IELTS score of 6.0 with no sub-score below 5.5 or a TOEFL score of 550.
