Course summary

This course is a professional and research doctorate directed at helping students to acquire and practise research knowledge and skills as they design, conduct and report doctoral level research about current and real world questions and topics. In doing so, the program provides students with maximum support and training to collect and analyse data and create new knowledge and understanding, and also to pursue new career opportunities.

Entry requirement for international students

Students should have satisfied IELTS (Academic Training only) score of 6.5 (or better) (no component lower than 6.0), TOEFL (paper based) score of 570 (or better) (with minimum test of written English score of 5), TOEFL (electronic) score of 230 (or better) (with essay rating of at least 5), TOEFL (internet based) score of 90 (or better) (with 20 minimum in all bands), Pearson (PTE Academic) score of 58 (or better) (with no communicative score lower than 58), Singapore, Hong Kong, British 'O' Level English of 'C' or better. They must have completed a Masters with a ‘credit’ average or an undergraduate Honours (I or IIa) degree, or equivalent qualification in Education or a cognate field relevant to the proposed area of study from a recognised university. They should also have a documented record of normally three years full-time equivalent of professional or teaching experience in a field relevant to the proposed area of study and be currently or recently employed in professional practice.
