Course summary
This program will provide: An in-depth understanding of: the natural and human induced forcing factors that are responsible for the rapid rates of environmental and climate change, and the types of governance and community based responses required to address these impacts, vulnerabilities and implications of the changes on physical, biological, social, economic and cultural environmental conditions. Professional development in the field of climate change for practitioners with practical skills in problem solving as related to adaptive environmental assessment and integrated management systems. The theoretical understanding and practical tools to enable practitioners to more effectively integrate best practice vulnerability assessment tools and techniques with nationally and internationally endorsed environmental management systems.
Entry requirement for international students
student entering the Graduate Certificate program will normally be required to hold an undergraduate degree, or equivalent, from a recognised higher education institution. Entry by non-graduates who have extensive relevant climate change adaptation industry experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis by the Dean, Faculty of Science, Health and Education. Students must satisfy any one of the following English language requirements: IELTS (Academic) score of at least 6.0, with a minimum of 5.5 in all subtests; a TOEFL score (paper-based test) of at least 550, with essay score of 4; TOEFL score (internet-based test) of at least 76, with a minimum writing score 18 or successful completion of Direct Entry English Pathway, with a minimum grade of 65 percent.
