Course summary
This course is for students who have included accounting units in their first degree and are seeking professional recognition in Australia. Before applying, they should have their qualifications assessed by a professional accounting body. Depending on the number of units required following this assessment, students may elect to study the Graduate Certificate in Accounting (four units), or the Graduate Diploma (six units) or the Master of Professional Accounting (more than six units). On completion of the Graduate Diploma in Accounting, graduates who meet the entry criteria may wish to pursue further postgraduate Accounting studies at UWS.
Entry requirement for international students
Students must have completed any one of the following qualifications: an Australian (bachelor) undergraduate degree or equivalent in any discipline, a masters degree or equivalent in any discipline, an Australian graduate certificate or equivalent in accounting or an Australian advanced diploma or equivalent in accounting and have five years full time equivalent business experience. They must also satisfy any one of the following English language requirements: an IELTS score of 6.5 with a minimum score of 6.0 in each subtest, TOEFL score of 575 with minimum score of 4.5 in TWE, TOEFL (CBT): 232 with minimum score of 4.5 in essay rating, TOEFL (IBT): 89 with writing score of 21 and all subtests score of 18 or they should provide satisfactory evidence that English was the medium of instruction in their secondary or tertiary studies.
