Course summary
This program is for top-ranking graduates of a dietetic course. Students develop their research skills gain a deeper understanding of a selected aspect of human nutrition. The program consists of a significant research project and a compulsory coursework component. Projects can be chosen from either clinical or community or in population nutrition areas and will be supervised by an experienced member of the Nutrition and Dietetics staff. The Honours degree allows high-achieving students the chance to further investigate their own interests within the field of nutrition and dietetics, and to learn valuable research skills. Honours graduates stand out from the pack, and often have an advantage over graduates with similar degrees.
Entry requirement for international students
Students must have completed the pass degree of Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics at Monash University, or a comparable graduate qualification in Dietetics from another tertiary institution. A combined average of 70 per cent or higher for semesters 5, 6, 7 and 8 of the Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics degree, or equivalent performance in the final 2 years of a Dietetic degree from another tertiary institution. They must have achieved the following English language proficiency test results: IELTS (minimum test score of 6.5 overall; no individual band less than 6.0); Paper-based TOEFL (minimum test score of 580; a Test of Written English (TWE) score of at least 4.5); Internet-based TOEFL (a score of at least 90 overall; a Writing score of at least 22; no score lower than 20 on the other sections of the test); Cambridge English CAE (A grade); Cambridge English CEP (C grade).
