Course summary
This program is to provide a professionally accredited, postgraduate level qualification for candidates whose first degree is the Bachelor of Applied Science (Architecture) or the Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of Canberra, or equivalent. On completion of the Master of Architecture award a student will have developed conceptual understandings and practical application skills in the area of architectural design to a professionally accredited standard, as determined by the Board of Architects of the ACT and the Royal Australian Institute of Architects, who accredit and recognise the degree. Students with degrees other than the Bachelor of Applied Science (Architecture) or Bachelor of Arts in Architecture or equivalent may apply, but may be subject to a bridging program and the submission of a portfolio of work before admission to the Master of Architecture program. Full-time domestic students in this course may be eligible for student income support in the form of youth allowance or austudy or pensioner education supplement.
Entry requirement for international students
Students must have a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture, or equivalent and a credit or above grade average in the architecture design studios in the second and third year of the undergraduate degree. Alternatively, because of the design-based nature of the degree, a portfolio that indicates the design ability of the candidate may be used to determine admission eligibility. In addition they should have fulfilled English language requirements with minimum IELTS score of 6.5 (academic) or equivalent.
