Course summary
This program equips students with pertinent knowledge and skills to become sensitive, safe and competent midwives who will be able to meet the needs of women and their families during the time of birth. Midwifery is concerned with the care of women and their families during pregnancy, labour and postnatal period.
Program modules
Modules include HS8012 Healthcare Management, HS8013 Advanced Nursing Practice, HS8210 Biological Perspectives in Midwifery and Related Pathophysiology, HS8211 Psychosocial Perspectives of Childbirth and the Family, HS8212 Health Assessment, HS 8216 Advanced Midwifery Practice I, HS8217 Advanced Midwifery Practice II, HS8218 Research And Evidence-Based Practice, HS8219 Advanced Midwifery Clinical Practice.
Entry requirement for international students
Students should have a Diploma in Nursing from Nanyang Polytechnic or an equivalent qualification and must be registered with the Singapore Nursing Board. A minimum of six months post-registration experience is preferred.
