Course summary

This programme offers interdisciplinary training in order to apply basic knowledge from the various fields of business studies to address a variety of accounting and auditing issues. Research in accounting and auditing attempts to address a large spectrum of questions including: the impact of accounting information on financial market participants and other users, the difficulties in reporting on increasingly complex financial transactions and instruments and their valuation effects, the convergence of national financial reporting systems towards an international standard of reference and its impact on capital markets, the role of auditing and the economic effects of regulation of accounting information, among other issues. This programme is mainly focused on Accounting and Auditing concentration.

Program modules

The modules are: Empirical financial accounting, International financial reporting, Auditing, Financial statement analysis and Organizational and social aspects of accounting.

Entry requirement for international students

Applicants must hold degrees equivalent to a master's degree and these may be degrees in engineering, degrees from business schools, degrees in medicine, pharmacy, veterinary science, law, architecture, etc., or a bachelor's degree with three years of professional experience. Selection is based on an exceptional academic record and/or professional career, high potential and strong motivation to pursue the selected advanced master's programme. Applicants to be considered for admission must demonstrate their proficiency in English with a TOEFL or TOEIC or IELTS score results; management aptitude test GMAT or TAGE-MAGE. They are required to present a score of English applicants native English speakers or who have pursued three years of graduate studies in English, or who have lived or worked three years in an English speaking country.
