It encourages the cultivation, contribution, and promotion of animation in Singapore by championing academic and artistic excellence in the field and forging collaborative partnerships with the animation industry. As the discipline represents the integration between art and technology, practitioners in this innovative and exciting field need the skills to demonstrate a good understanding of the creative and technical processes involved. Students can progress as an 2D/3D Animator. Related Career areas are animation/video/online content producer, computer game designer, illustrator, storyboard artist.

The modules covered are: Level 1 covers Studio Practice 1: Concept Workflow; Technical Studies 1: Environments; Contextual Studies 1; Studio Practice 2: Production Workflow; Technical Studies 2: The Figure; Contextual Studies 2. Level 2 covers Studio Practice 3: 3D Character Animation/Traditional Animation; Technical Studies 3: 3D Specialist Skills I /Traditional Specialist Skills I; Contextual Studies 3; Studio Practice 4: Production Development; Technical Studies 4: 3D Specialist Skills 2/ Traditional Specialist Skills 2; Contextual Studies 4: Issues in Media Arts. Level 3 covers Studio Practice 5: Independent Production; Contextual Studies 5: Dissertation I; Studio Practice 6: Social Commentary; Contextual Studies 6: Dissertation II.
Entry requirement for international students
Applicants from India should have completed Higher secondary school certificate, Indian School Certificate (Standard 12). They are also expected to have IELTS score of 6.0 or TOEFL iBT80. The 'A' level art/art elective programme or International Baccalaureate (IB) Art and Design are not required subjects but they should represent the portfolio standard for eligibility into the BA (Hons). They are also required to attend an interview where they will present a portfolio of their work that demonstrates their creative development and process.
