Course summary

This degree pathway is built upon the Diploma course in Design and Media. Its curriculum is designed to enhance students’ awareness of the historical precedent, current practice and emerging technology in the field of graphic design. Students will be provided with the opportunity to develop their practical skills in graphic design as well as to acquire the relevant theoretical knowledge. The programme also includes a six week residential study visit to Loughborough University, during which the British counterpart will provide students with inputs to refine their dissertation works and artistic ideas. This visit will also provide students with exposure to trends and practices in international art and design.

Program modules

The modules include NYC431 Graphic Communication Contexts (1), NYC500 Art and Design Dissertation, NYC432 Graphic Communication Contexts (2).

Entry requirement for international students

Applicants must have completed a NAFA Diploma or its equivalent, with a minimum 5 GCE 'O' level passes with credit in English; minimum pass of 70 per cent for the Final Year Project (conducted by NAFA); or relevant diploma or its equivalent with relevant professional experience; a minimum pass of 70 per cent for the Final Year Project or its equivalent; or mature students with industrial experience; and a minimum pass of 70 per cent for the Final Year Project or its equivalent. Applicants should also demonstrate their English language proficiency with a TOEFL score of 600 or IELTS Band 6.5.
