Course summary
This programme designed to develop outstanding educators and leaders for the delivery and management of high quality early childhood programmes. A unique feature of this degree programme is the inclusion of two areas of specialisations, Global ECE and Special Education. These areas have significant relevance and impact on today’s evolving and challenging ECE landscape. The programme will enable students to become better informed and competent in these areas, thus enhancing their professionalism and careers in ECE. The programme learning outcome: address issues related to the preschool curriculum - subject knowledge and understanding; planning, teaching, and class management; monitoring, assessment, recording, reporting, and accountability; develop awareness of the needs of children in a multicultural environment; become reflective practitioners and are able to analyse, synthesis, apply and manage and evaluate; and develop the standards required of principals of pre-school centres in the areas of curriculum development; centre management, leadership and administration, and current curriculum issues and research. Students who successfully complete all modules will be awarded the prestigious Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Early Childhood Education by the University of Wales, United Kingdom. The degree is dully accredited by the British Government by means of a Royal Charter and carries the same status and recognition as other Bachelor degrees granted by the University to its on-campus students. Graduates will be entitled to use the title BA (Hons) ECE after their names.

The modules include Major Specialisation: Global ECE Module 1: Globalisation, Module 2: Global Organisations and Agencies, Module 3: Frameworks of Public Policy Making, Module 4: Advocacy and Module 5: Policy Issues; Major Specialisation: Special Education Module 1: Special Education, Module 2: Inclusive Education, Module 3: Individual Differences, Module 4: Families and Children with Special Needs and Module 5: Behaviour Management.
