Course summary
This programme covers basic manufacturing technology and industrial safety in the electronics industry. Through BTS, employers can be assured that their workers will acquire the knowledge and skills needed to prepare them for technological progress in factory automation and manufacturing processes. At the end of the course, participants will acquire: the necessary entry level skills and knowledge to be effective at the workplace and mobility on the production floor will be increased and their redundancy potential reduced. A Certificate of Attendance will be issued to those who attained a minimum attendance of 75 per cent.
Program modules
The modules are as follows: Plot Performance Chart, Hand Tools, Electronics Components, Units of Measurement, Multimeter, Electrostatic Discharge, Handling of Production Materials, Fire Hazards, Personal Protective Equipment and Project Construction.

Electronics Industries Training Centre (ELITC) is a non-profit, charitable organisation, set up in 1986 by a group of leading electronics multi-national companies in Singapore. Over the years it has grown into a body representing the HRD needs of the electronics and supporting industries. Workers in the knowledge-based and changing economy require better education and new skills. ELITC works closely with the industry and various government agencies to provide opportunities to upgrade and re-skill some sectors of the electronics-manufacturing workforce to meet this structural change. In the years to come, ELITC will continue to make training courses relevant for the needs of the industry. ELITC is licensed by Institute of Technical Education Services Pte Ltd (ITEES) to conduct National ITE Certificate (Nitec) in Electronics (Computer and Networking) course. Nitec in Electronics is offered through e-Learning mode for the theory lessons, which provides more flexibility for the trainees. Both full time and part-time training in Nitec are offered to foreign students and to the local workforce, respectively. The Management Committee sets policies and directions. Members elected to the Management Committee are representatives from member companies. There are nineteen companies who are the Founder Members. These companies, mostly multi-national corporations, contributed with funds towards the setting up of the Centre during the first five years of operation. There are eight companies who are the ordinary members.
