Course summary
This programme equips students with the practical skills needed to become effective managers of teams and individuals. It enables students to acquire an in-depth understanding of a wide range of business concepts and prepares them for work in a number of general management roles. There is a particular emphasis on developing the ability to manage people, so that by the end of the programme students should be able to handle confidently many of the complex interpersonal interactions which take place between members of teams, clients and customers. The abilities to drive business success and manage people effectively are essential qualifications for becoming a successful manager. Upon completion of the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Business Management, students will be eligible for entry into the Master of Business Administration / Master of Arts programme offered by the University of Greenwich (UK). They may apply to specialise in finance services, international business, operations and logistics or tourism and hospitality management.

The modules are as follows: BUSI 1317 Strategic Management, BUSI 1323 Organisation Behaviour 3: Leadership, BUSI 1334 Personal and Professional Development 3: Career Management, BUSI 1475 Contemporary Issues in Management, BUSI 1155 International Business, RESE 1031 Thematic Independent Study.
Entry requirement for international students
Applicants should have completed secondary school education in English; or an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of at least 6.0; or a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of at least 547 (paper-based) or 78 (Internet-based); or a Test of English as International Communications (TOEIC) score of 605-780; and an ERCI Advanced Diploma in Business Administration or an advanced diploma in business from a recognized institute of higher learning; or a business diploma from a Singapore polytechnic. They should be at least 18 years of age at the time of registration. Applicants with a diploma in a non-business related field from a local polytechnic or a recognized institute of higher learning will be required to undertake bridging modules at the ERCI Advanced Diploma level, subject to the Institute’s assessment for exemptions.
