Course summary

This program was developed to train and provide industry certification for building custodians, a new job created in the JRP-REMMI programme. Building custodian work is essentially a re-designed job, combining housekeeping/cleaner's work with the occasional minor building services repairs/replacements and grounds keeping work. The higher wages is expected to encourage the generally older and less educated existing cleaning workforce to upgrade their skills, attract a younger workforce and improve retention rates in this important environmental aspect of real estate management and maintenance work.

Entry requirement for international students

Applicants should have physically fit and not colour blind; able to lift objects weighing a minimum of 15kg; English literacy and numeracy up to at least primary 4 level or WDA ESS WPLN 3; able to work independently and exercise self-checks of completed tasks.
