Course summary

This course consists of a suite of awards, including certificates, diplomas and a revised Certificate in Accounting Technician (CAT) qualification. It provides students with flexible entry points with certification awarded at each level, allowing students to tailor the awards, making them an attractive and relevant choice for employers. Diploma and Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) holders have direct entry to Skills of the ACCA Professional Scheme. It also provides them with skills and knowledge relevant to any business, they are free to choose which type of accountancy role and organization they want to work for. The FiA suite of qualifications covered are: Tuition for Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Introductory Certificate in Financial and Management Accounting (6 months); Tuition for Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Intermediate Certificate in Financial and Management Accounting (6 months); Tuition for Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Diploma in Accounting and Business (6 months); Tuition for Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) Examination (18 months); Tuition for Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Foundations in Audit (6 months); Tuition for Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Foundations in Taxation (6 months); Tuition for Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Foundations in Financial Management(6 months).

Program modules

The modules include: Introductory covers FA1 - Recording Financial Transactions, MA1 - Management Information; Intermediate covers FA2 - Maintaining Financial Records, MA2 - Maintaining Costs and Finance; Diploma covers FAB - Accountant in Business, FFA - Financial Accounting, FMA - Management Accounting; Options (choose any two) FAU - Foundations in Audit, FTX - Foundations in Taxation, FFM - Foundations in Financial Management.

Entry requirement for international students

FiA provides various entry points for students: It is critical to note that exams FAB, FMA and FFA in FiA are the same as exams F1, F2 and F3 of the ACCA qualification with identical syllabuses, study guide and assessment methods. No formal academic qualification: students with no formal academic qualifications can register to take exams at any level within FiA; Diploma in Accounting and Business, with open access through FiA will replace the current Mature Student Entry Route (MSER)of the ACCA; qualification for students who do not meet the ACCA qualification minimum entry requirements. Student intending to register under MSER may now opt for FAB, FMA and FFA under FiA. Once completed, students gain exemption from F1, F2 and F3 of the ACCA qualification.
