Course summary
This programme (Workforce Skills Qualifications, WSQ-aligned) is internationally recognised and developed by Siemens Professional Education (SPE), Berlin. The Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA) recognises the value of this programme for someone who works in the manufacturing industry and ITE, a certified partner of SPE, Berlin, has been appointed to deliver the programme under the WSQ framework. This programme is suitable for those who are currently employed or wished to be employed in the manufacturing and automation industry as: Mechatronic Systems Specialist and Automated Machine/Equipment Specialist. Upon successful completion, participants will be equipped with mechatronic-based skills suited to the needs of the manufacturing, medical technology, semiconductor, marine and even service industries. At the end of every module, participants will be assessed on their competency through a modular assessment. A Letter of Completion is issued upon passing this assessment. Participants will sit for the Siemens Certified Mechatronics Assistant Certification Examination when they have passed all four modules. Two certificates, namely the WSQ Certified Mechatronic Systems Assistant and Siemens Certified Mechatronic Systems Assistant will be awarded to the successful participant.
Program modules
The modules include: Electrical Components, Mechanical Components and Electrical Drives, (Electro) Pneumatic and Hydraulic Control Circuits, Digital Fundamentals and PLC.
Entry requirement for international students
Participants should preferably possess a minimum secondary 3 education with technical and mathematics knowledge of simple algebra. Relevant work experience with automated equipment will be an advantage.
