Course summary
This programme is an excellent starting point for students to enter the creative and cultural industries, this course also serves as a progressive platform for further studies. It gives students the opportunity to select electives in other departments - fashion, music, fine art, dance, theatre, 3D Design, and design and media. In addition, students can expect to gain a good understanding of many art forms and learn how to manage events and projects, turning exciting artistic ideas into reality. Students will have the choice of majoring in either Visual Arts or Performing Arts in this course. Graduates of the programme may find careers as arts consultants, arts administrator, artistic director, artistes manager, box office and ticketing manager, business manager, community liaison manager, concerts and events manager, curator, ensemble librarian, entrepreneur, event and exhibitions coordinator, festival organiser, fundraising and philanthropy manager, gallery owner, marketing and advertising personnel, museum executive, performing arts manager, stage and production manager, production management personnel, programme manager, public relations personnel, radio broadcast studio manager, special events coordinators, and teacher.
Entry requirement for international students
Applicants are required to pass in the admission test/audition. The general requirement is Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level with at least four grade-C6 or better grade subjects, excluding English language, or International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma or Certificate, or relevant Institute of Technical Education (ITE) Nitec qualifications with GPA 2.5 and above may apply. ITE graduates from the following courses are eligible to apply for module exemption: Higher Nitec in Business Studies (Administration). Apart from the above general requirements International applicants from India should have obtained Secondary School Certificate (Year 10), including a passing grade of 50 and above for English from The Central Board of Secondary Education Examinations (CBSE). Applicants from other countries should have country specific requirements equivalent to Singapore. Also they should demonstrate their English language proficiency with Grade C6 or better in the Singapore-Cambridge GCE 'O' Level English Language, or TOEFL score of 500 or better, or IELTS Band 5 or higher, or a pass in NAFA English Admission Test, or qualifications equivalent to any of the above.
