Course summary
This programme is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to be and an effective people helper. It is suitable for those in the human services who utilize counselling and group work roles in their work such as teachers, supervisors, human resource executives, lay counsellors, social work assistant and religious leaders.
Program modules
The modules are Interpersonal Skills; Human Development; Helping Skills; Delivery Methods in Human Services; Working with Groups; Parenting, Family and Culture; Relationship Issues; Ethical Issues in Human Service; Social Program Evaluation; Field Placement (150 hours).
Entry requirement for international students
Applicant must possess 5 GCE 'O' Level credits including English; or 3 GCE 'O' Level credits including English plus AHD Certificate in Practical Counselling (Basic); or diploma in non-related field from recognized institution; or professional certification from recognized bodies.
