Course summary
In this programme, students will gain the techniques and mastery to convey interior design ideas through visual and verbal means. Graduates will be able to produce creative and pragmatic solutions for interior design projects. It equips students with a practical qualification and will guide them to apply relevant design knowledge in a way that will enable to gain entry into the professional design industry. At the same time, it will arm students with experience in design integration and innovation, nurturing a creative mind necessary for long-term progress and sustainability in the design industry. With this qualification, students will be able to progress to the Advanced Diploma in Interior Design.

The modules are Colour Concepts for Design; English for Designers; Interior Design 1; Design Studio 1; Construction 1; Computer Aided Design; Digital Imaging 1; Design Fundamentals; Design Contextual Studies; Design Communications 1; Interior Design 2; Design Studio 2; Construction 2; Material Technologies; Digital Imaging 2; Building Services and Lighting Practices; Design Concepts on CAD; Design Communication 2; Interior Design 3; Design Studio 3; Construction 3; Exhibition Design; Design Calculation and Costing; Furniture Design; Computer Aided Design.
Entry requirement for international students
Students should have attained an age of 17 years and above. They should have obtained minimum academic requirements of: three GCE 'O' Level subject passes, five GCE 'N' Level subject passes, ITE graduate in relevant design courses, Certificate in Interior Design and Decorative Techniques course. Students with design-related work experience are preferred and without work experience will be required to participate in industry visits and student research. International students should have completed senior high school or equivalent and test results achieved within the one year preceding application. They should have language proficiency: GCE 'O' Level - C6 in English language, or GCE 'N' Level - C5 in English language, or equivalent. Students are required to achieve the following minimum proficiency in English language: IELTS score of 6.0 minimum or TOEFL score of 550 minimum.
