Course summary
This program is designed for newly appointed or prospective logistics managers or supervisors of general or logistics businesses. It is appropriate for students with limited or no experience or fresh school leavers, as well as more experienced logistics practitioners who lack formal qualifications. The industry requires highly trained managers and administrators. Decision making ability in the use of resources with emphasis on management planning, regulating and operational aspects of the various modes of transport and distribution is required. It functions extends across all modes of transport (air,sea,road and rail); logistics, supply chain management. Contract distribution, manufacturing and retail organization include government policy making, legal limitations and dealing with regulatory bodies. They are involved in marketing, accounting and finance, data processing, transport operations, personnel management and distribution management. Excellent opportunities exist in the industry for well trained professionals.

The modules include S1 Business Communication, S2 Principles of Management, S3 Business Statistics, S4 Business Law, S5 Integrated Business Logistics, S6 Principles of Marketing, S7 Managerial Economics, S8 Warehousing and Distribution, S9 Transport Management, S10 Operations Management, S11 Logistics Information Systems, S12 People Management, S13 Contracting in Logistics and S14 Managing Change in Logistics.
Entry requirement for international students
Applicants should have completed General Certificate of Education 'N', 'O' level examinations of the Singapore-Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate or its equivalent or should have obtained NITEC Certificate awarded by the Institute of Technical Education or its equivalent or having 3 years of related logistics working experience. Apart from normal entry requirements, exemptions are available for applicant holding qualifications and/or related working experience that are higher than the stipulated normal entry requirements. However, exemptions considered are on a case-by-case basis and subject to the approval of AIM and RASM.
