Course summary
This course helps to develop a rich knowledge of Chinese language and literature of specialized personnel; to help students in-depth understanding of Chinese society, to understand Chinese history and culture to promote cultural exchanges and cooperation between countries. Students analyze and solve specific problems, training of students engaged in literary theory with independent research and the ability of literary criticism.
Program modules
The courses include selected topics in History of Modern and Contemporary Chinese Literature; Chinese Grammar and Rhetoric; Chinese Prose of Pre-Qin, Han, Weijin and Nanbei Dynasties; Chinese Poetry of Tang and Song Dynasties; Chinese Novels of Ming and Qing Dynasties; History of Chinese Linguistics; Dissertation Proposal; Chinese Characters, Phonology and Exegetics; Modern Chinese and Contemporary Films and Drama; Chinese Traditional Culture; Studies on World Literature.
Entry requirement for international students
Applicants should have an undergraduate degree or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution. They should have at least two years of work experience. They should have 21 years old and above, high level of motivation and good communication skills (written and spoken).
