In this course, the curriculum embodies work skills to help fulfill the professional and personal aspirations. Qualified counselors know that professional practice relies on deep understanding of how people learn. It equips students with the skills, confidence and knowledge to become a professional counselor in a variety of locations and settings.
Program modules
The courses are as follows: Assessment; A typical Development; Advanced Counselling; Foundations of Counselling Theory; Foundations of Counselling Practice; Supervised Practicum; Careers and Leisure Guidance and Counselling; Reflective Practice in Guidance and Counselling; Educational Leadership and Management; Introduction to Educational Research; Behaviour Management; Language Acquisition and Reading; Career Development Portfolio; One subject from Information Technology or Business Program offered at JCU Singapore.
Entry requirement for international students
Applicants must have successful completion of three years bachelor degree or diploma approved by the faculty. They must have obtained IELTS 6.5 (no component lower than 6.0)/ TOFEL 570 (with a minimum written English text score of 4.5) and above; or satisfactory completion of the James Cook University English Language Preparatory Program (ELPP); or successfully completion of two years of full-time study in English medium may satisfy the English language requirement.
