Course summary
This course will help students to support pre-production, production to post-production, integration of digital audio and video system and in the handling of audio and video equipment. On completion of this course, students will be trained to prepare production work, perform administrative duties, carry out equipment maintenance, coordinate production work, manage video equipment, manage lighting equipment, manage audio equipment, perform production equipment operations, perform digital photography, manage production work, perform video non-linear editing, perform audio post production. Graduates with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 and above may apply for progression to the first year of a related diploma course at the Polytechnics. Graduates with a GPA of 2.3 and above may also apply for progression to related Higher Nitec courses offered by ITE. Nitec in Digital Audio and Video Production graduates may be employed in the various fields of digital audio and video production work including production technical support, events management, sales and leasing of audio video equipment. There are excellent opportunities for career advancement to supervisory positions and beyond. The challenge is for students to prepare themselves by upgrading their technical skills and knowledge through higher-level courses.
