Course summary
In this course students learn to perform preventive and predictive maintenance programmes, maintain basic automation control systems and ensure the smooth operation of industrial and mechanical equipment. The graduates are employed by companies that manufacture metal and plastic products, and food and beverage items. Some of the job titles held by Nitec in Mechanical Technology graduates include maintenance technician, mechanical engineering technician and industrial machinery technician. There are excellent opportunities for career advancement to supervisory positions and beyond. The challenge is for students to prepare themselves by upgrading their technical skills and knowledge through higher-level courses.
