Course summary

This course is aimed at helping those who want to equip themselves with comprehensive management knowledge to deal effectively with the rapidly changing environment. It offers a unique opportunity for students to enhance their understanding of the 'whole enterprise' in its competitive situation. The curriculum of this course covers both the breadth and the inter-disciplinary aspect of business as a whole. It balances conceptual knowledge with an applied curriculum that is also suitable for vast positions in various industries such as finance, marketing, human resource and others. This programme is validated by the Cambridge International Examinations, University of Cambridge (CIE). At the end of this programme, students will be able to: understand the theory and practice of specific functional management areas; understand how to plan more effectively, solve organisational problems and contribute towards making management decisions; apply specific functional management skills to increase the productivity and business efficiency in their areas of responsibility; assume higher levels of responsibility within specific functional management areas as a result of newly acquired /improved skills. Upon successful completion of this programme, graduates can advance on to a business-related PSB Advanced Diploma or gain entry into various prestigious universities (subject to universities' entry requirements), such as: University of Newcastle, Australia.

Program modules

The modules include: Quantitative Skills, Management, Economics, Marketing, Business Information System, Financial Accounting, Human Resource Management, Organisational Behaviour, Organisation Structure and Design, Business Policy and Strategy.

Entry requirement for international students

Students from India should have obtained Secondary School Certificate (Standard X) with minimum average grade of 60 per cent. Students from other countries should have specific academic qualifications equivalent to Singapore standards. Students whose first language is not English are required to demonstrate the English proficiency by obtaining an minimum IELTS academic score of 5.5 (with writing sub-band not less than 5.0); paper-based TOEFL test score of 500 with a Test of Written English (TWE) of 4.0; computer-based TOEFL test score of 173 with a Test of Written English of 3.0; internet-based TOEFL test score of 71 with minimum score of 16 in writing; successful completion of Certificate in English Proficiency (CEP) program; and others should have: minimum C6 in GCE O-Level English, minimum B4 in SPM English or B3 in UEC senior 2 English and minimum C grade in Hong Kong CEE English language (Syllabus B).
