Course summary
This course is designed to provide participants with knowledge on assessment and skills to construct test items to assess learners' achievement in theoretical knowledge and practical skills. It is directed, in particular, towards in-company trainers who are or will be involved in setting test papers leading to ITE certificates as well as for in-house tests. The following areas will be covered: tests and instructional process, taxonomy of instructional objectives, characteristics of a good test, approaches to testing, theory test planning, construction of test items (selection and supply types), writing instruction to candidates, item analysis, constructing practical tests, and assessment. Participants will be awarded with the Industry Trainer Module Certificate if they satisfy at least 75 per cent of the attendance and pass the assessment at the end of the course.
Entry requirement for international students
Participants are to have at least Grade C6 in English at the GCE 'O' level to be able to benefit from the course.
