Course summary
This course has been designed to enable participants to gain both the knowledge and the skills that are required for positions of responsibility in the animal management industry. These practical skills and theoretical knowledge are delivered through a combination of academic study, practical classes, visits and work experience. They will study the following areas: academic and professional skills, animal husbandry, animal health and nutrition, animal systems, animal welfare and legislation, behaviour of companion animals, biology, brain and behaviour, marketing, indigenous species, animal management, principles of animal behaviour, wild animal care and management, work-based learning and applied animal health.
