Course summary
This course is for students who have an interest in fashion, graphics, 3D or fine art and want to build on their skills and qualifications to go on to higher education. It will give them a chance to build a portfolio of work. This course is made up of a number of modules, each covering a different aspect of art and design. There are eight core units and ten specialist units to be completed, these may include visual recording, materials, techniques and processes, ideas and concepts, visual communication, contextual influences. Progression onto the second year of this course is dependent on the successful completion of the first. Progression thereafter can be on to Pre- Degree Foundation courses, BA art and design courses or HNC/HND courses. In some cases students can move straight on to work related areas.
