Course summary
The 4+1 program is a combined bachelor’s and master’s degree program of study, which allows undergraduate students in interior design at the University of Florida to take graduate-level courses prior to completion of the bachelor’s degree and to count 12 graduate credits towards both degrees. If admitted, students are required to complete 6 graduate credits in the fall semester and 6 graduate credits in the spring semester of their senior year (Letter-graded A, B+ or B). After the baccalaureate degree is awarded, students must complete an additional 24 hours of graduate credit hours consisting of coursework and a written thesis with a research component. Students should expect at least one additional year to complete the Master of Interior Design.
Entry requirement for international students
Minimum requirements include a bachelor's degree or Master's degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or a comparable degree from an international institution, a minimum grade average of B for all upper-division undergraduate work and scores that are acceptable for the program to which students are applying. They must also have acceptable scores on the General Test of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). Students should contact the academic unit for specific program criteria, which will require them to submit such items as transcripts, recommendation letters, and more. International applicants should submit the English proficiency test scores (i.e.) TOEFL or IELTS.
