Course summary
This program intends to provide upto-date perspective on patient documentation for the electronic healthcare record. Students transcribe traditional dictation as well as develop the editing skills necessary to ensure document quality with voice generated technologies. In this program, students are prepared for a career in medical transcription and medical records positions. Instruction emphasizes the areas of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, medical office procedures, medical records, and medical transcription. Students will apply their knowledge to the preparation of medical documents dictated by physicians for patients' charts.

Entry requirement for international students
Students should have a high school diploma or GED. If they don't have a high school diploma or GED, they must prove ability to benefit from post-high school education by scoring at a federally established level on an approved test. International students should have obtained a minimum TOEFL score of 500.
